EVENTS
Caroline, Megan and Josephine visited 'the birthplace of TDP43' for the first biennial conference on TDP43 function and dysfunction in disease. Word on the street is that the meeting was 'sublime', with excellent science, people, coffee and of course location!
Megan, Josephine and Sami traveled to Les Diablerets, Switzerland, for the 2nd Gordon Research Conference on ALS and Related Motor Neuron Diseases. Travel could have been better, but the conference (and the setting) were incredible! Congrats to Josephine for winning awards for best poster at the GRS and GRC! Based in part on his poetic diction, Sami was also elected as vice chair for the 2026 GRC on ALS and Related Motor Neuron Diseases. Congrats?
A few brave souls (Sumin, Amanda, Sami and his captive kids, even Caroline and Josephine towards the end) braved the weather to compete at the 2023 Active Against ALS Boxcar Derby! The racing was not quite furious, but it was definitely fun. Josephine, Sumin, Sami, Ripley and Doria took part in the 2023 Twinkie 5K at Gallup Park, benefitting Active Against ALS. Not only did Ripley earn his first award at his first 5K, but Josephine also received an age-group award! Congrats everyone! Representation at the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research Annual Meeting was strong. From left: Nico Gomez, Megan Dykstra, some random old guy, and Josephine Wu.
